Building Your Splash/Squeeze Page

A splash page is a quick loading image that gives some information about your
website and creates interest for the visitors to click and find out more..

A splash page should load above the fold so no scrolling is required by the visitor.

It is also important that when the splash page is clicked your main website loads up in a
new window. The reason for this is splash pages are mainly used on traffic
exchanges and safelists. This allows the visitor to continue with their surfing and
check out your site later on without interfering with their current surfing.

A squeeze page is also a quick loading page that preferably loads above the fold.

This page includes a form asking the visitor to input their name and email address
to unlock a free report or ebook. Your squeeze page should grab the viewers
attention and put a clear call to action telling them how to get their free report,
product, service or information.

Be sure to make your splash pages unique and brand yourself with your name
and image on them.
If you like you can request additional information such as their phone number
depending on what your needs are. But remember the less information you ask
them to fill out the better your chances are they will take action and fill out your
opt in form.

Graphics

Graphics play an important role when it comes to grabbing the visitor’s
attention. Professional well designed graphics on your main page, squeeze and
splash pages will build a level of trust and improve your opt in rates or click thru
rates. The issue however is trying to budget in graphics as they can get expensive.
A well crafted squeeze page runs you about $50 while a splash page is around $20 -
$30. Graphics for your blog or web site can range from a few hundred dollars to
thousands.

There is one program however that helps you out with your splash page and
squeeze page creation. These pages look professional and are designed by an
expert in the field that knows what produces the best results.

AdKreator is newbie friendly, it allows you to create professional looking
graphics for free or a small monthly cost to access unique graphic packages and
hosting for your creations. You can create splash pages, squeeze pages, buttons
and banner ads of all different sizes like the popular 468×60 and 125×125, peel
away ads, login bonus graphics and website headers.

It is always important to brand yourself in some way online so people will
recognize you. If at all possible I recommend doing a full branding which would be
your name, a professional picture of yourself and a logo. Branding yourself is
important as people notice you and build a relationship with you through the
content you offer and products you recommend.

To your success

Hi Pauline, this is an area that I am admittedly week in.

I have not really built a list for my blog and I’m not sure how to approach that.

I know that you are supposed to give away a free report, but everyone does that. and sometimes the value of the reports is not so high.

I don’t want to be ‘just another email list’ that clogs people’s inbox.

    Any thoughts on that?

      Hi Dave
Thanks for stopping by, nice to see you here!
Why not give some free graphics or software away to get people to sign up to your list? if you do not have any you can always pick up some PLR ones, or what about an ebook? again if you don’t have your own, pick up some PLR and re-work it to put your own stamp on it, maybe change the title and cover and then change some of the content so more of your own personality comes through.
      Hope this helps :)
